Dead Dotcom auctions, any advice

Dude, you won't get ripped off. Unless you search through all the posts at Hot Deals and find a ton of rebates. Most of the stuff is fairly new and in great condition, more or likely it will be 50% retail price.

Yeah, my friend has been to 2 Dead DotCom auctions, picked up a 5 keyboards for $3.50 🙂 Where do you live anyways? Around here in San Jose, I've only seen a few in the past month or so. There used to be practically one every weekend.

www.dovebid.com is having two big multimillion dollar "combined" dead dotcom auctions in the next two weeks, both are webcast, so you can download brochure and bid by free 1-800 phone online live by using their software. Or if you are in Boston or Seattle you can go there.

Cool, that Dovebid auction is previewing lots 1000-1700 a few blocks from me, and the Seattle part of the auction is only about three miles away.😀

I read a few articles regarding the "dead dot.com" auctions. Or dot.bomb I should say.

As more people have discovered they are available, average attendance and bid prices have gone up. To the point where now some of the liquidated items are selling at 70-80 percent of their retail value. Not quite the good deal as when they first started out. But still a deal.

They had a couple around here in which they first advertised in the local newspaper. Were very straight up on descibing the computer hardware for sale. The garden.com auction as I recall. An acquaintance of mine went, but was outbidded. Said he couldn't make any money because bid prices went so high.

You might be able to get some deals on Sun Microsystems hardware. Do your research first though. Should be plenty of workstations available. x86 flavor. Networking equipment. Routers and the like.

Don't get caught up in the bidding frenzy.
