dead digital camera

Hi,

my Epson PhotoPC650 suddenly stopped working after about 2 years I had it...

It appears completely dead, no typical sound after batteries are inserted and lends opened, no light.

I thought that batteries are dead, so I replaced them (and checked their voltage with multimeter - OK) , and still nothing. I didn't drop the camera, no rough handling. Just sudden death out of blue sky....
I can't put it on external power, since I don't have Epson charger. I'd let it repair, but last time I let local shop to repair my other (regular Canon AE-1) camera, the price was insane ($160), not really economically bearable, better to buy a new body.

Any ideas? Anyone with similar priblem and fix for that?

Never mind; I fixed that.

The battery compartment contacts needed some WD40; wonder if I should sue Duracell for leaked 2 week old AA's 🙂
