Dell Small Business has the 2001FP LCD monitor at 20% off right now, bringing the price to $719.20 with free shipping. Great deal on a great monitor. Tax may vary. NO COUPON NECESSARY! Offer expires on Aug. 25th.

I don' t think there is any coupon for this. It is an automatic 20% off of $899. I already have a 2000FP...do I really need the 2001FP? Dual LCDs would OWN so much. However, my stupid Radeon 9800PRO does not output any signal to the DVI port for some reason, so I guess that would not work. I would have to go out and get me an X800. Oh where will it end?

Dell no longer has the XT...only the PRO. Wasn't there a better deal for these cards? X800PRO is showing up for $359.10. Wow...I would be spending over $1000. That is more than my current rig cost me to build total. he he... Dare to dream. I don't even have Doom 3, so that would mean more money just to actually put this thing to the test.

One nice thing is that Oregon has no sales tax.

Yes, most 19" monitors are inferior to 20" ones. If you game the response time issue alone would be worth it.

Why do you care about the refresh rate? Its an LCD, so refresh rate doesn't matter like it does on CRTs.

yea I occasionally play fps shooters just not frequently... it would be almost 300$ more to upgrade from 19" to 20 " in my case... damn I gotta decide...

What's the warranty on the 2001fps?

edit: 'cuz newegg shows the benq monitor having 3 years warranty and a first year hot swap program.

Yes considering it's 1600x1200 vs 1280x1024

hehe well in order for me to play at 1600x1200 i would need a better video card. I'll see how the 19" works out, if it's not what I expected than I'll go for the 2001 fp.

I'm extremely glad to see the price dip down again, I bought it at the last dip and this monitor "rocks".

As far as the extra inch - if your a guy with a girlfriend/wife ask her if an extra inch matters.

I just pulled the trigger on one, although the tax does take some of the "hot" away from "hot deal"--$52.14 sales tax for me. Oh well, it's still a pretty good deal at 20% off and free shipping...especially for an LCD monitor such as the 2001FP.

haha, but we're talking about monitor sizes.. it's not the size that matters it's how you use it...

I'm used to resolutions of 11XX by 7xx (forget the exact numbers). 1600x1200 would require a whole new vid card to play games without descaling. So like I said I'll see how the benq turns out then. But if you got the cash please please get me a 2001fp! :)

edit: so I can compare!

Or as the saying goes, "It's not the size of the ship, it's the motion of the ocean..."

Staying on topic, though--mine just arrived yesterday, and man does it look great! Side note: heck, even though I ordered it with free 3-5 day shipping, it arrived the day after I ordered it! I've never ordered from Dell before, so I didn't know that they have a shipping warehouse in the Reno, NV area; since I live in the Sacramento, CA area, the shipping aspect turned out great for me!
