Ok, looks like in order to get the $25 preferred account discount you will need to click on the banner with the offer and actually create an account. Earlier I posted that you could back out and still get the discount but that is not the case. The specifics are updated in the first post. I didn't realize how much updating is involved in posting. whew.

Zodder,

Try protecting yourself with your old CRT monitor. Worked for me. She broke it, so I proved I needed a new monitor. Can't beat the logic in that!

Anyone had personal experience with the monitor? I'm thinking about returning the Wally World Microtek 18" and getting this one.

Too good to pass up!

I'll just have to grin and explain the necessity of this purchase to the wife. I'm sure she will blow off some steam by heading over to Ann Taylor for the afternoon.

Cool. So they know I am waiting for that monitor, at that price, with those discounts, plus the $25 discount for opening an account?

If so, my girlfriend is going to kill me. :)

Ordered this morning before I went to class. This will be great with my 8250 w/ 9700tx I got from dell :) This will be my first lcd screen. Is there any difference between vga and dvi?

I just bought this monitor a couple of weeks ago...and I love it. The price I got was about $525 through the small business division. So although Dell will price-match itself usually within 30 days, I don't know if they will do that when the item was purchased in the small business division and the lower price is in the home division. Furthermore, I think they only price match when the "Base" price goes down...not when they just have special discounts. But it certainly is worth it to make a phone call and see what they say.

To all of you on the fence:

PUSH THE BUTTON. JOIN THE DARK SIDE.

I've spent the whole afternoon working out how I will justify spending $426 on myself, and not anywhere near that much, ON TODAY HER BIRTHDAY.

I am so dead....

How much better is the monitor compared to Wallmart's Microtek 18in LCD? I know the dell has DVI, but does that make that much of a difference?

Pretty brave for people that don't even have a shipping confirmation yet...I hope they get burnt!
