Before I make the plunge...does this have good enough response time for gaming? Or is that only high-end LCD's?

it showed -162.25 in my cart, but when i got to the last step before submitting "Verify and Submit Order", it switched it back to like -97.25. However, if you keep refreshing on this screen as well , it will eventually change back to -162.25. and voila, submit!

thanks to whoever found this, i can get rid of my viewsonic 15" lcd with a slight star crack on it. maybe i'll put it on f/s with a discount. :)

This is what scares me.......(cut from Dell order acknow. email)

The Order Confirmation e-mail will also confirm your final purchase amount, pending any charges stemming from the verification of the online pricing of your order. Please note, however, that Dell cannot be responsible for typographical or other errors, and reserves the right to cancel any orders resulting from such errors.

But I have no idea if that is good or not :) I've never owned an LCD.

The lowest I have so far is 25 ms. And they seem to be done in 5ms increments so 30 is 2nd best response time. I read a review of this monitor thru another forum and it got great reviews for gaming. I'll try to find it again and post it here.

The hitachi's have a 15ms response time, so 3rd best.

Okay, just got my order confirmation from Dell, 451.75 shipped, est. arrival on or before 1/29/03. I still have the coupon that went thru as 35 off 300, when it read as 100 off 400, so I will try to get the extra $65, plus I applied for and was approved for 25 off with the preferred account so there is another 25. With a little luck, I am looking at bottom line of 361.75 to my door. THAT is hot.

count me in. ~$452 shipped is too good of a deal for this monitor. I have been searching this forum for almost a month now, trying to get in on a good deal for a high-end LCD monitor, and this deal won. :) I really wanted the 20" Dell's 1600x1200 native resolution and SVHS input, but the best deal on that seems to run around $750, and that monitor is way too ugly to pay $300 more than the sleek, sexy 18" version in this thread.

bravo, everyone! thanks...

Yah I got the $35 off 400 no problem. Still can't get the $25 one to work. Tried starting with credit card then switching to my account, no luck.

Do you need another LCD? Probably not :D

If my wife didn't love her Samsung 753DF so much I'd buy her one of these.

OK I figured it out. Had to create a new account then the $25 link appeared. $426...unreal price.

Now to go home and face the wife.

I hope that you're joking, right ;)

2000FP ---> 1800FP is a major downgrade
