Currently Amazon is running specials to some of its customers on Kindle Products.

To see if you are one of those members go to amazon, log in, and search for the product you are looking for. Go to the product homepage and see if you see a yellow banner that looks like this.

Exclusively for you: Get $75 off Kindle Paperwhite ($119 $44) or Kindle Fire HDX ($229 $154), or $50 off Kindle ($69 $19) or Kindle Fire HD ($139 $89). Limited-time offer.

Click on the coupon link. Then add the desired item to your shopping cart

$50 off Kindle ($69-$50=$19)
$75 off Kindle Paperwhite ($119-$75=$44)
$50 off Kindle Fire HD ($139-$89)
$75 off Kindle Fire HDX ($229-$75=$154)

I was eligible for the discount, I purchased a Kindle Paperwhite for $44. On a second order 2 minutes later I purchased a traditional Kindle e-reader for $19. Note I had to purchase these as separate orders for if I did it on the same order I was eligible for only one discount.

I am a current Amazon Prime owner, that said I turned off my subscription as soon as I saw the price raising later this year.
I do not own a Kindle or Kindle Fire.
I purchase Kindle books and read them on Android tablets.
I have not used recently Amazon Instant Videos (free or paid). I have purchased in the past years ago Amazon Instant Videos paid.

Mine had a yellow banner about only paying 20% at check out and then being able to pay in 4 more payments down the road, but no overall discount.

I got the financing offer as the banner as well, probably Prime members that get the benefit of the discount on it since it is a fully Amazon product. Would have jumped on this deal if I could, been thinking of grabbing a Paperwhite and at that kind of price holy cow!

No dice, probably because I already have one. The paperwhite is going to be updated soon anyway I guess so I'll wait.

I got the offer - this is what the page looked like when I navigated to it, then a screencap of the offer when I clicked the yellow banner

I'm a prime member with about 15 purchases in the last 6-8 months

My special offer is to buy in 5 easy payments with no interest, sigh. I'd rather just pay all at once.

Prime member, many many purchases, I didn't buy it but I have a Kindle Paperwhite registered to my account. Too bad, I was going to buy one for my sister's birthday.

If only the kindle fire hdx's had 'regular' android on them, they'd be kick butt devices. As it stands you either have to root the thing and install cyanogenmod or something on it, or you have to live with an extremely crappy interface that's only good for consuming amazon media.

Amazon Prime members can "borrow" books for free, but only if they have a Kindle.

19 bucks might be worth it.

Got a paperwhite for $44. Been really debating getting one and for this price, why not.

Thanks OP!

Been a Prime member for quite a long time. (long enough for my first year and my 5 year student price to run out). I only have 8 orders this year.

I think I will pull the trigger on one of them.

You feel the Paperwhite is the way to go?

Probably one of the best E-readers out there. Awesome screen and fast. A steal if you can get it for $44.

Thanks OP - jumped on the Kindle @ $19. Prefer iBooks personally, but now as Prime member now I can borrow books!

Update: Cancelled the basic Kindle and went with the $44 Paperwhite after all the positive comments here.

You can't beat it IMO. I used to be a Nook fanboy but the Kindle is a superior product now that I've switched. The built in backlight is great.

I'm only semi-special. I just got the financing offer.

For those asking about the Paperwhite at $44, it's a no-brainer. I have one, use it daily and love it. I paid full list and would do so again.
