Woot woot!!! $100 cheaper per speaker than last years weekend deals. Yes these are the waaaay better than the Monitor & TSI line, but require a good ampunt of power.

The entry bookshelves RTI A1 was $179/pair. Not too sure about these, I can vouch for the A3's I got last year for $250/pair.

This is a huge misconception about larger speakers. In fact, large speakers tend to be more sensitive than smaller speakers and will typically require 1/2 to 1/4th as much power to play as loud as a smaller speaker. Now, if you want to take them to the point of blowing them then yes, you will need more power

Looks like the majority of the Polk speakers of this ilk are rated at 90db sensitivity. That being the case, they are all going to be about the same "loudness". The ones that the OP speaks of have more headroom, going up to 500 watts, but the different in volume between 125W and 500W is only 6db, so it's not going to be an earth shattering difference.
