Dead: D-Link DWL-922 Wireless G Network Starter Kit - $4.99AR @ BB (G Router + USB Adapter!)

Ichinisan

Lifer
This kit includes a DI-524 wireless G router and a DWL-G122 wireless G USB adapter.

I was at Best Buy in Newnan GA shortly before closing and picked up this week's ad. It had this offer as:
$79.99 - $5 instant rebate - $20MIR - $20MIR ($34.99 after rebates and instant savings)

When I found the item on the shelf, the shelf tag read:
$79.99
- $5 Instant Rebate
- $50 CHECKS [MIR's]
------------------
$24.99
Expires 01/21/2006
At the checkout, I had the CSR check just to make sure I would get $30+$20 in rebates. He showed me on the screen a $30 and $20 rebate, but one seemed to indicate that it had expired. When they printed out, both rebates came out with valid dates. After submitting the $30 BB rebate online (offer #: 64533), the printout did not indicate the amount of the rebate. My brother (CZroe) wanted to be sure that we had not made a mistake by submitting online instead of using the "$30.00" form, so he tried to look up the printable form online to make sure it was not actually $20 as indicated by the weekly ad. He did not find offer 6433 online, but found another valid $20 BB rebate!

In short:
$79.99
-$5.00 - Instant Savings
$74.99 - You Pay + tax
-$30 - Best Buy Rebate (BB form 64533)
-$20 - D-Link Rebate (BB form 63029, DL offer 4116)
-$20 - Best Buy Rebate (BB form 64629)
---------------------------------------
$4.99 - After online and mail-in rebates!

It gets even better with a Reward Zone card 😉

The two Best Buy rebates can be submitted online. I'm not sure if they will try to disqualify me for using the same customer PIN twice to submit online, so it *might* be better to mail both BB rebates.

64629 - $20 (Valid 1/15/06 - 1/21/06. Postmark by 2/21/06)
64533 - $30 (Prints at register. Valid 1/15/06 - 1/21/06. Postmark by 2/21/06)
63029 - $20 (Prints at register. Valid 11/27/05 - 2/4/06. Postmark by 3/7/06)

[removed last "update", oops]

I just submitted mine too and I just thought I'd note that I can't track them online yet. It's not surprising considering that it wouldn't take my customer service PIN until about an hour after I bought it. 🙂

There were about four bundles left at the usual shelf spot by closing time at the Newnan, GA location. There may be more elsewhere in the store. Because the shelf tag was different from the ad, my brother brought it up to the register and it may not have ended up back on the shelf. We combined ours with Reward Zone points so that helps cover some of the tax on $75. 😉

Is anyone else in EST going to try this morning? I'd like to know that you can still get $50 in rebates at the register.

is this item listed on the bb website? i'd like to get an idea of what it looks like before i drive over there.

edit: i think i found it Text

I went and bought one and the only rebates that printed out for me was a $20 and $30 so it is $29 not the $34 in ad. I looked at the rebate that you linked to on BB.com and it sates to submit a copy of the online order receipt, I wonder if they will take a store or is this just a decent deal.

Also my store did a $84 - $5 instant not a $79 - $5 instant, so you are already better off than me.

Edit: Oops, brother left his account logged in... This is CZroe.

Actually, I submitted that rebate online with no receipt what-so-ever. Only asked for the CS PIN what was on the store receipt + rebate form.

Do you think that it will matter as to how the rebates are sent is as to the chance that we will get the rebates? Do I stand a better chance of getting the rebates if I mail them in or am about as likely of getting screwed out of the rebates either way?

Well, it looks like 64629 should be submitted online because you don't have an online receipt to mail in like it asks for. 😉 If you submit it online I would submit the other the same way also so they won't dismiss one thinking that you simply submitted the same rebate both ways (I'm only speculating that cross-reference is possible).

The D-Link rebate is immune to all of this. it goes strait to them.

I would like to get in on this deal, but i'm not sure it would help me. I currently have a Dell Latitude C640 laptop with a USB 1.1 port and internal wireless B card. Will this D-Link Wireless G USB adapter plugged into a USB 1.1 port with a wireless G router actually give me a faster connection than the built in Wireless B card I have in the laptop? I just have a feeling the USB 1.1 port is a bottleneck. Sorry for changing thread directions, but I feel this is a great deal on a good router and G adapter. I just want to make sure I will be able to use this stuff.

Worked for me a couple days ago. Well, we'll have to wait for the checks to be sure but by then the offer will be long gone.

USB1.1 would bottleneck full-bandwidth 802.11g network transfers but not your Internet bandwidth.

You figured him out! 😉

There are a total of 6 listed rebates on this for online submission at the rebates site, plus one more not listed that prints at register. what the hell. i just went to the store and bought this, might as well submit them all and see. LOL.

go to rebates site at bestbuy to see them.

Various Networking Mail-in Rebates - Expires 01/28/2006 #64788

2 of the above are listed by OP
64658 is also listed by OP, and prints at counter, but i don't see it listed on bestbuy site.

all but the wireless g kit 20 doller can you submit on line. It let me submit all of the rebates on line with no fuss. now lets see how many they will let me get away with. considering they are all at least 20 dollar rebates, i don't hold high hopes, but it can't hurt.

cheers.

(oh yea. my best buy didn't have the 5 dollars instant off. 🙁 so we'll see how many of these old offers the system will let me get away with. chuckle. )

well. I've been declined on 3 and and approved on 3 online rebates. and the one in the mail should be no problem.

so:

64658 processed. the check is on its way: 30.00
64935 recieved, awaiting 28 day period to make sure item is not returned. 30.00
64788 recieved, awaiting 28 day period to make sure item is not returned. 30.00

6255 mail in. should be good. 20 bucks.

looks like i stand to make money.

rebate em all. let bestbuy sort em out! 😀
