I just purchased a new motherboard and CPU. The motherboard is Asus. I'm not sure what model, I don't have it with me. The processor is a Pentium 4 Prescott 2.1 Ghz A model. After installing the processor in the socket, I connected everything up and it simply didn't work. So, I then took it all apart and tried to get the processor out of the socket but it seems to have fused itself in there. I've installed enough systems to know something is definately wrong. I had it installed in the proper orientation but with the ZIF lever up, the CPU simply refuses to come out. Anyone have any help here? I'm going to return it on Monday. Thanks in advance.

First of all, there was no 2.1ghz prescott cpu. Second, if its stuck in the socket either some thermal paste/pad has dried up around the edges or a pin is bent
