Would this be quieter than the Megahalem since it's water? Or would the pump be pretty loud?

the pump is very quiet... you can barely tell it's running... the thing actually needs a sight glass so you can be sure it's running...

then it depends on what fan(s) you use... stock the thing is very quiet for the level of performance it delivers...

holly crap! when did this hydro series get huge? I had heard of the h50 and h60, but now there is a h70, h80 and even h100! Trying to find reviews on them now.

Don't know about the H50 but I have the H60 and love it. Does a pretty good job, frees up space in the case and I can't hear it at all.

The H50 does a pretty good job with push/pull fans. The advantage is no stress on MB and pretty much a zero footprint around the CPU socket. You might get a little better results out of todays high end air but then you gotta make sure it isn't too tall for your case, it doesn't block memory slots, etc!

As others have mentioned, the weight of the massive heatsinks are getting rediculous and that puts alot of strain on your motherboard.

And in general water cooling is much more efficient then air cooling. Water can absorb alot of heat and is much more efficient at doing so then metal. the radiator is just to cool down the water, not to cool down the cpu.

and if it does then they(corsair) will replace anything that gets fried. Normal heatsinks require cleaning as well and the fan could just as easily die on a heatsink...

Blowing dust out of the rad once in awhile is all the maintenance required.

As far leakage goes I guess you may have a point. I'd think that as long as a person is carefull and doesn't stretch, kink, excessively twist the hoses, etc. that there is a good chance leakage would be of minimal concern. Of course it could start leaking anywhere from 20 seconds from bootup to 5 years of constant use
