My memory is perfectly fine, yet I want this. I mean 16gigs of memory is necessary... right?

Reports have been shaky on Corsair rebates through this company. As always, don't make a purchasing decision based on the $30 you MIGHT get...

I have never not gotten my Corsair rebate and I have probably done at least 30 with them over the last 6 or 7 years.

I have 2 current ones as I write. They are like Antec rebates. They claim 8-10 weeks and that's exactly how long it takes them.

Its a good deal but I don't need 16GB ram for this budget rig I'm currently putting together. If it was for me maybe but not spending it on someone else. LOL

I don't need it either, but I'm building this rig to last 2 or so years.

I already have 4x4GB DDR3-1333 and there really isn't much of a difference between DDR3-1333 and DDR3-1600, but I'm still tempted.

If I didnt already have 32GB sitting around from OTHER hot deals, I would jump on this. RAM prices are getting rediculous! What is this, like $3.50 per GB? That's only 2x SSD territory!

Good to know. I haven't had any Corsair rebates so all I can go on is 2nd hand, and there were a number of bad stories. As with anything though people tend to report things going badly more often than when things go well.

Theres CMX and CML (low profile) linked here
But in the pics they look like the exact same height
Cant use ripjaws too high, had to use "normal" 4X4 Mushkin on my P67 Z68
But looking towards the X79 8 slot boards to purchase coupla these, can anyone state the CMX are any higher than CML?

I don't have either, but I agree the CMX and CML look the same. These are both definitely "low profile," meaning they are lower than ripjaws.

@Termie

Thnx for reply
O.K. I'll bite for 2 kits.
Thnx for heads up also

Speaking of rebates, I just this minute got my $30 XFX rebate card in mail. Took 13 days from mailing to acceptance, 6 more days to get rebate - very nice. Actually, I almost threw it away - nothing on letter, and saw "congratulations" thru envelope.

Edit: Just called Corsair - XMS is value ram, vengeance is better, dominator is best. He said if not overclocking ram, XMS is fine, vengeance has better drams.

I'll bite. This is about the price I paid for 12 gb of this stuff for my core i7 rig about 6 months ago. I can now go to 24 gb AND have a 4 gb stick laying around for future use. Score.

I got in on this. Since I am starting a new 2500k build, I did need DDR3 memory. I dont need 16gb, so I may sell the other 8gb.

Anyways, I think this memory may actually be 1.65v @ 1600. Bad marketing I think. I am not sure this is 1.5v @ 1600. :(

Someone may want to look into what this memory actually runs at 1600.
