i have an 8mb compact flash card that came with my old camera and just recently the camera is reading it full.
i tried switching the camera to review pic mode but its telling me the card is empty. tried reformatting it but
no luck, anyone know a quick fix to this aside from throwing the card away :D ?

Try formatting it in Windows,i`d say.
There`s a possibility of making it unusable it with the standard windows format tool.

But i once heard that some companies, let you download formatting tools for their media.
Although i`ve never seen one.

Go to the online help of the Compact Flash maker and see if they have a tool or how to format their media.

Try the demo of Photorescue It will show you if there is anything on the card and if it can be fixed.

If the card is from Lexar, you should be able to send it in and they will fix it. They have had great RMA service in the past. One colleague of mine ran over his card wallet, turning 6 256MB cards into little pieces and they replaced them under warranty.

An 8MB card isn't really worth heroic measures unless you have an image you need trapped on it. Newegg has some deals on 96 and 128 MB cards right now.
