Just got this in my Buy.com email

Excellent price with free shipping. I've owned three of the Powershot A series cameras over the years and they are solid cameras.

Link to the Canon A590 IS

edit:

Deal is dead at Buy.com but J&R has it for 109.88 shipped here

Alternatively, Amazon has it for 110.95 shipped

and Adorama has it through Amazon for 99.95 +7.00 shipping.

Both are linked here

Very nice price for a solid PnS. It has some more advanced features but you can just set it to Easy and it takes solid pictures. Uses AA and SD so no proprietary stuff to muck around with. LCD can be a bit grainy in some lighting/context, but that's pretty common with cameras in this range. Its larger than the Elphs for sure, mainly in thickness and even more with the hand grip bump. Still very small and totable though, great gift for parents and such that are a bit clumsier or prefer simple gadgets.

This is a great deal. I'd been scoping this camera for awhile, and I just bought one for $10 more (with free shipping) from newegg, last week. Before that, the best price I'd found was $130, one week from CC.

Great reviews on all sites -- 4x optical zoom, image stablization and notably, better comments about noise performance than Cannon's 10 megapixel offerings when pushed.

Check ALL specs when comparing features and performance against other units.

Price is about the same as Amazon if buy.com charges you tax and Amazon.com doesn't. In that case, I'd go with Amazon.com.

Anybody know if this comes with its own rechargable batteries? Doesn't look like it to me but just trying to make sure.

The PowerShot A series uses AA batteries. Current generation uses 2xAA batteries. The retail package comes with 2xAA alkaline batteries.

Hmm, that means you gotta blow another 20 on rechargable betteries + charger which I don't know how much costs. Our 4 year old Kodak Easyshare came with a rechargable battery pack. When it dies you can take it out and pop 2xAA batteries in.

In for one anyway, tnx OP.

Is this deal now dead? Or is buy.com's page so obtuse that I can't figure out how to buy it from them. I went to the link but the cheapest I see is $109.xx from J&R, no option to buy directly from buy.com. I also logged into my account, no help.

This would be ideal for my Christmas shopping so any help would be appreciated.

I updated the original post and title. Still can be had for 7.00 more from Adorama through Amazon.
