*Edit* The Celeron is gone but I noticed they still have a Pentium 4 system with similar specs for $5 less:

You'll definitely need another 256MB of cheap ram to run properly.. Once you upgrade it should run quite a bit faster than the Celeron.

Ok folks, this system is not going to win any races against a quad core gaming machine, but it is perfectly fast for music, word processing, web surfing, and other basic uses. It also comes with a legal copy of Windows XP home installed, which would normally cost $90 by itself. ;)

Cost: $89.99 + shipping (starts at $9 depending on location. It was $15 for me).

I assume these are socket 478?

Oh, and I could use the XP key with a different computer?

Ive got an old P4 2.6GHz Northwood still running in an Asus P4C800-E Deluxe would I be able to steal the CPU out of these things and drop it in my system? I see they have a 3GHz version for 126$...If I figure the OEM OS is 75$ of the cost, would the minor speed bump be worth the extra 25-50$. The system is used frequently and is running Adobe CS3 ect. (so it probably is CPU limited) It has 2GB RAM (1x1GB 2x512MB), one other concern is heat, Ive only got a stock HSF and the case has poor airflow (2x80MM fan one front/rear)

If I went with the 3GHz version with the 512MB you think the memory is worth tossing in the system as well? Or would that limit the speed of the memory thus negating the additional storage? (I probably already nerfed it with 3 sticks)

While Im at it, anyone wanna help me get an XP Media Center disk? I have a legal copy with the COA and everything, but the disks were bad and Ive never been able to use the darn thing. I just need a stinkin disk for it and Ive never been able to find one (except MS who wants like friggen 40$!). I have an old AM2 X2 3600+ system that I could use as a media center/server PC and that OS would be handy...anybody got a disk/copy theyre willing to share?
