Dead bugs after the exterminator comes?

So my girlfriend's apartment had roaches, which, as it turns out, may be the most disgusting thing ever known to man or beast. The exterminator comes and sprays the house for a few hours and theoretically, everything is beloved patriot dory.

Now though, we've been finding tiny, dead bugs everywhere. I'm pretty sure that they're dead baby cockroaches, at least, that's what they look like. I'll try and get some pics up here later.

I mean, I guess it's good that they're dying but it's still gross to wake up in the morning and have to vacuum a carpet that's chock full of tiny, dead cockroaches.

Is that normal?

Yeah, when we spray for the next few days we will find dead bugs near where we spread. Sounds like she had an infestation.

Yes. And she will probably see the odd live cockroach, too (just wait it out, it will die in a little bit). It takes a while for the spray to kill the bugs.

Well, here's the thing, the exterminator was here about three weeks ago :-\

That's how it works. If you hadn't sprayed you wouldn't be seeing them dead on your floor because they would still be crawling around in your walls. :p

Well, unless he vacuumed them all out, they've got to go somewhere, right? :p

Well yeah :D I've personally never had to deal with that before so I wasn't sure if it was normal or not.

Because there is this service called extermination?

You know what? He's right. We should've just torched the place.

No. Take off and nuke the site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

Even that might not work. These are cockroaches we're talking about, toughest creature known to man to get rid of.

So long as you also load the nuke with bug spray, that should kill 99% of them. You'll still see a few, assuming you directly nuke the house and not the house next door

Also nuke the house next store on each side and behind to assure 100%

It takes a while if this is the first treatment...the bugs try to avoid the poison....once the consume their resources they come back into the dwelling area where the poison takes effect.

Some of the newer houses have in wall treatment options where you rarely see a bug inside ever.

Incidentally, I saw Starship Troopers for the first time yesterday.

The only good bug is a dead bug.

Interesting, I wish that option was available when my parents built their house. We see random bug, spiders and mice all too frequently.

DANG!

We also had a roach problem in our house. I'm more than sure it was an infestation, especially in our kitchen. They would come out at night, and walk all over out counters and stuff! You should see my mom react to them. I mean she would go Jurassic on those things. They were disgusting tho'.

Anyways, we sprayed ourselves and they are dieing off surely. But every now and then, we'd find one tiny one walking around or something.

It's normal. When I was looking at buying my house, it was all pretty and clean inside. The day before closing, there were dead bugs everywhere.

I remember roaches from college. Curious that I've never had them since.

There's a good chance that one treatment will not be enough.

Ugh, don't say that. It's such a hassle to move everything around when they come.

Sorry, it's the nature of the beast. This is especially true if there are common walls with areas that haven't been treated simultaneously. I can remember having to remove everything from the kitchen cabinets and washing a couple of times. It was worth it though.
