**DEAD ** BFG 6800GT for 350$ at outpost, good deal right?

last week they had the bfg 6800 oc for $249.99 (Includes far cry). So I bought it.

Is it worth returning the 6800 oc and spending the extra $100 for the GT? Gt does not have fry cry, but I bought it for $18 at best buy 2 weeks ago.

That depends on your wallet. 😉 You may also have to pay restocking fee on your returned 6800oc, which would really suck...

I think while the performance jump is certainly decent, the regular 6800 is still a peppy card. You'll just have to upgrade a little sooner. 😉

im not going to buy anything from outpost, but im just curiouse, for those of u who bought this card.. did u get it OEM? Retail? or Refubished?

Its retail version, with the BFG dual led fan cooler from what was stated in previous post before they went OOS and came back. Possible this batch could be reference cooler but haven't seen any comment as to which it is yet for these.

It's retail noob

ha, it still amusess me that ppl here are still so suportive of outpost, even though u have all seen there buisness practicess.

fair enough though, i am a noob wen it comes to buying anything from outpost, and it'l be that way for the rest of my life.

The outpost description doesn't make sense to me. They say it's a FX series which was what they used for their previous 5000 series. BFG does not list a FX6800 on their site.

"BFG FX6800 GT 256MB GT OC (overclocked) Video Card with nVidia's GeForce 6800 GT Chip

BFG Technologies (Video Cards):
Outpost #: 4082662
Based on the same great architecture as the BFG GeForce? 6800 GT OC?, this card is overclocked out-of-the-box and features a powerful 16-pipe superscalar GPU with 256MB of GDDR3 memory for the mainstream enthusiast. "

I agree with you man. I dont see why everyone boasts about frys/outpost. They NEVER marked returned items. You never know if you are buying new or used there. There warranties are a joke. I actually bought one on a mobo couple years ago when I built my first comp. Luckily it was only 20 dollars for the warranty, because when I came back to get a new one, they wouldn't do crap for me. That incident, combined with a frys employee who actually told me about their bad business practices, has given me a good enough reason not throw any money at these SOB'S

I see nowhere anyone made reference in support or defense of Outpost for any reason. But since it was brought up, I will say their inventory system stinks, that aside I can also say I've never had a problem with any products I've purchased not being new or retail when stated.

So is this a hotdeal or not?

If it's in stock, yes. But given my experience with outpost and all the anandtech/obesewallet peeps who've seen this by now, my guess its OOS even though their site shows otherwise.

I just bought one of these bad boys at the Houston Fry's location for $399. Now I'm contemplating whether it's worth the hassle to return it and order from Outpost for the $50 difference. Grrr.
