So this morning I got the cancellation notice. Now I just emailed them right back and asked them to reinstate my original order...

I've been following that thread this is good news.

After further reviewing the card this morning we determined that the PCI 650 card that we have has the ATI Theater 650 Pro Chip on it. We called AMD/ATI and spoke with their technicians who confirmed that the chipset does hardware MPEG2 compression.

The only use for the dongle is if you want to connect a camcorder or other video device to your card and stream/record video to your PC. Although we did not list the card as coming with the dongle, we did incorrectly list the inputs for the card based on information provided by the manufacturer. If you need/want the dongle, we will ensure that it is provided to you at no additional cost.

Props to woot for resolving the situation. I really only bought the card to watch TV, but I like the extras.

My order has been re-enacted. Woot said they'll send us an email for instructions on getting the dongle, I guess.

I have a few easy questions:

1) Why does the 650PCI have two coax ports on the back of it?

2) My HTPC is sitting next to my TV. I want to use my tv tuner to record TV, but I don't want to watch live TV on my computer when the TV is obviously right there. Do I just need to get a splitter to connect directly to my TV and the tuner simultaneously?

I have OTA only, no cable boxes or anything. My TV is plugged directly into the wall which connects to the rooftop antenna.

1. One of the coax ports is for analog cable and the other is for QAM/ATSC OTA.

2. You will be find with just a splitter unless your signal strength is already very low.

If you ordered one of these, check your email for a free "dongle".

The offer is good only till Friday. It will allow you to record other video sources (like a vcr).

Ordered my free dongle yesterday. Doubt I'll ever use it but wanted it nonetheless.

If you get stiffed by woot, watch overstock.com
They don't have any right now but I've seen OEM HP Tv wonders there for similar or even lower prices.

I got 2 of the PCI versions. I never realized that the remote was not included. I thought that the listing indicated that the remote was included. Now what? Anyone know how I can get a reasonably priced remote control?
