You can get a small patch from one of the cd forums.I think it is on cd freaks.It will let you use AWS.You could also change your region settings for your computer,to Canada.I'll check the forums,to see which site had the patch.

I had no problem swapping for a Lite-On. I told the guy (mid-30s manager) what I wanted (12-digit s/n); and he looked around till he found one. All depends on how nice and respectful you are. I didn't grovel; but I made it clear that I was very greatful for the extra work. Made sure I put in a good feedback comment for him by name, too. He's a manager; but it may help, right?

I have both,the LiteOn 32x and the Mitsumi/16 mb buffer.So far the Mitsumi has been the most reliable.
I have the LiteOn in a P3/1gig system with a LiteOn 16x dvd.The Mitsumi is in an USB 2.0 external case.
By all reasoning the Lite should be the better,but using the cloning software,the Mit has failed me yet!

Your're complaining to the wrong people, complain to OfficeMax (1-800-283-7674) not RebateHQ. People have been buying these CenDyne CD-RW drive with rebate four 4 or 5 months now and have been posting that they have been receiving their rebate checks in 4 t0 8 weeks without any problems.

Here is the story so far, after waiting and waiting, and sending a few more e-mails to the rebateHQ guys, my status went from UPC CODE not sent to SERIAL # not sent to BOTH UPC CODE & Serial # not sent, to VAILD SUBMISSION (with wrong rebate amount, still $20.00), to VALID SUBMISSION with the *option* of picking a $30.00 rebate check exact words were "You can choose any one of the items below as your rebate reward. There is no extra cost to you.", so I FINALLY can choose the $30.00 rebate check that I should have had as default, and not the $20.00 rebate check which was the default. It Did take 6 e-mails to get it listed correctly though

.... now, I HOPE I get it 'within the next 30 days.' 🙂

For the record, I did complain to OM, and never got a reply from them...
