These are pretty solid routers, if a little bit on the "old" side these days. However, they support a VAST ARRAY of 3rd-party firmwares (these pre-date the encrypted bootloader/CFE stuff), and even the stock factory firmware is full-featured. (AsusWRT, has dual-WAN, QoS, CTF cut-through forwarding - necessary to route 1Gbit/sec WAN-to-LAN, etc.)
Definitely worth it, for $110 "New" (plus tax, if applicable), both for the stock firmware AND if you want to run something like "Fresh Tomato" (recommended) on it, and don't care so much about AX / Wifi 6 features like 160Mhz channels and MU-MIMO. (If most of your client devices are AC or below.)
These routers will do 500Mbit/sec throughput to PremierTek / RealTek 8812AU USB 2x2 AC wifi dongles, in the next room. Haven't tested 3x3 dongles much.
