I was actually curious about this camera exactly b/c it is so cheap. I saw a brand new one go one ebay for $43, and when I searched for completed items, all the ones sold were within the 45-60 dollar range. Great price, but what about quality? I tried to look up reviews for this particular camera but found none. Steve's Digigcams, who I think is great at reviews doesn't even list a single Argus. I found some reviews on both higher and lower end models to the DC3200, and most of them said it was a piece of $h!t. For that price, you might not care, but you'd still find it cheaper on ebay, which is a site many of you seem to hate for some reason. Cheers.

You could add some rechargable batteries or a 16MB memory card and use the $25 off $100 coupon that's floating around :)

I don't believe that this has an 8mb memory, as we have them at work and at high quality the memory holds ONE picture. Even if it was in TIFF format, a 1.3 mp image would be less then 8mb.

This is strange... the Kodak deal was for the dc3200 model, at CC a while back. Strange because they have the same model # and essentially the same specs, except a different package and my Kodak only has 2mb of mollasses memory.

1.2MPix at full quality (again, on my camera) is 330kb of memory. I can't imagine that the 1.3Mpix of this camera would be much different. The pictures are nice... but if you're looking for a camera to replace a film camera... well, find more $$$ and buy a better camera. :) I would check the manufacturer's website, I know Kodak has sample pictures.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder. if one can make a memory that will make a favoriite relative smile, would say it was whatever the cam cost :)
it's good to have a starter camera, to learn on, to get one's feet wet and avoid newbie mistakes (like mine). plus it requires one to be more creative when setting up the shots, lighting, etc.
i've found (imo) that optical zoom is kind of overrated--anything less than 10x is not enough, and 10x/above digicams are unwieldy and pocket-hating, ths reducing that take-anywhere, happy-go-lucky durability
one needs to go test the camera out THEMSELVES, as ONLY they have a true inkling of what they need and what they'll use it for...
good luck, and good posts

I bought one as a gift for my pre-teen neices, so they can send digital photos to our grandmother's ceiva digital frame. It arrived today.

Two words...fixed focus. I had no idea just how much worse things could get than my 1.3 MB Olympus 360L. I hope the kids will like it.
