I saw that resolution on another tablet recently, killed the deal for me. I think it was even 1024x768, resolutions I haven't seen for years. (aside from my phone)

This one seems pretty similar and is in the $80 range, and has flash capabilities. No 3g tethering though.

If somebody is looking for a really cheap tablet without a bunch of bells and whistles, these may not be a bad way to go. But I'm far from informed when it comes to tablets.

My god man, what sort of resolution are you expecting for a 7 inch tablet? And you must have a Samsung Galaxy Note, because that's the only phone I know of with a resolution that high. I think your expectations for a 7 inch tablet, much less one that's <$100, are completely unrealistic.

OK, but MIPS processor does not enjoy the compatibility of an ARM core. Also no flash support and no camera. I'm still very satisfied with my Novo 7 advanced which is being discontinued for a newer 7 advanced. really, Ainol is all over the place, vendors had to persuade them to make more of the 7 advanced as more orders were pouring in, seems they got the MIPS chipset to run 4.0 for bragging rights but is there anything special the 4.0 tablet will do that a 2.3 wont?

Uses an old, slow chipset, resistive touch (yuk), 256Mb memory (small), 2GB storage (tiny). We had a similar performing tablet, the Pandigitial, it sucked so bad you couldn't wait to shut it off..

When was that? a lot has changed, some fast ones out there now, if " 7 is something you can live with or not, but performance in just the last year has at least doubled..

It's a matter of making sure people are informed about such products. We appreiciate ActiveX posting hot deals, but sometimes somethings are too hot to be true.

I'ts not vaporware, you can order one. Lack of a camera not a biggie for most but no flash support kinda is, usually any tablet beyond 2.3 can run flash, this one has 4.0 but can't? Me thinks Ainol rushed it too fast, IMO the extra $30 or so for the 7 advanced is worth it..

I think the advanced is a great unit and with the HD video it can play I wanted one.
Can't buy one now, then I heard about the NEW IMPROVED advanced

Man I wish they made a 10" model.

The paladin seems underpowered and older but a way like some said oh look we got ice cream.
Some post on other sites say it should do well with games.
Hey I don't even know what the main differences are between 2.3 3.2 4.0 so I am no expert on any of it.
BUT for $98 it sure makes all others sold in usa show just how overpriced they are here.

I want netflix and android apps and root I am sure the ice will come to everything soon enough.


on the cameras. I have 2 friends that have different units with cameras and they are paranoid and taped them off...I think they read somewhere about a hack that allowed someone to view them or something.
I personally have 0 use for a camera and hope they would make them an option to cut prices.

Most cameras are rudimentary at best, my 7 has a 2MP back and a .5 MP front, even my old Fuji 4mp completely shames it in pic quality. It will record videos though, but it you want the quality you still have to get a dedicated unit or a much more expensive tablet than the 7..

Higher res screens are always nice but for a "7 screen kind of a waste IMO. The only issue I have with the 7 A's display is it has a smaller viewing angle than I'd like. More pixels means more ICS power to move 'em around and I like how snappy the 7 A is. Kinda weird that it's being discontinued so fast, it had a nice nice, $60 below the Fire but still very useable and fast, dumb move Ainol..
