got two of these from Staples, one has ELIXIR chips on both sides and the other has ADVANCE MODULES chips on one side only, should I try to get two of the same kind? if yes which is the better one to match up?

It shouldn't matter. I have a Kingston PC2100 DIMM with Infineon chips on both sides, and this K-byte which has SpecTek (or something like that) chips on only one side and they both work fine together.
