Police ruled the shooting was an accident, but the DEA headquarters in Washington was still investigating, Kilmer said.

Wtf? The guy shot himself in front of 50 witnesses who will all confirm the same story. What is there to investigate?

What is there to investigate?

To find out who sent this idiot on guntraining when he clearly needs more training himself:

He drew his .40-caliber duty weapon and removed the magazine, according to the police report. Then he pulled back the slide and asked someone in the audience to look inside the gun and confirm it wasn't loaded, the report said.

Witnesses said the gun was pointed at the floor and when he released the slide, one shot fired into the top of his left thigh.

The kid that "looked" into the barrel of the gun could've been killed.

He took out the mag but didn't check the chamber!

Fuggin idiot.

Why would the gun discharge when he released the slide? (besides him pulling the trigger)

Mostly just funny.

"Everyone was pretty shaken up," Farmer said. "But the point of gun safety hit home. Unfortunately, the agent had to get shot. But after seeing that, my nephew doesn't want to have anything to do with guns."

Even with all of the disturbing things going on intentionally within the government these days, it's comforting to know there's still room for that good ol' fashioned ineptitude.

ALL Negligent Discharges (there are no accidents) are due to failure to follow the rules:

RULE I: ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

RULE II: NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO DESTROY

RULE III: KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

RULE IV: BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET

You forgot rules V - X : See rule 1
