With many disputed ballots left to go, do not look for any official call in Minnesota in the near future. This race may set a new world's record for close.

If the trend lines continue, it looks very bad for Coleman. But don't look for a winner
anytime soon, it could be well in to March or later before the race is definitely decided.

This one isn't even worth following because it is going to be a bunch of courtroom and possibly Senate decisions that decide it.

By the time it gets down to the courtroom battles, Coleman may very well have been indicted by the feds, so the people in MN won't want him around anymore anyways.

They are trying. Found ballots in a trunk, in a backroom, and a ballot box that was stored away because they thought it was defective.

I called this election night.

Yep, it's amazing how they magically "find" missing votes. "Hey look, here's a box of empty ballots, I'm sure these were meant to be Franken votes that were just misplaced. Count'em boys!"

Care to admit you have 2 accounts?

Have you been following the MN recount at all? Sheesh, there were ballots "found" in cars, "lost" in another area so they aren't using the recount numbers as they should...etc. There is nothing about this recount that suggests MN has a good recount system like people have been trying to claim.

Duh, it's not going to be done in such a way that it can be proven, otherwise people would be going to jail. Trust me, enough votes will be "found" to make Franken win.

I found it pathetically amusing Minnepolis cant find 138 ballots that were tabulated on election day. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Maybe we can have a runoff election between just the two of them to settle this mess.

Aha, now I think I get it: Apparently there is massive vote counting fraud committed by the State of Minnesota, but they are being so careful that no one will ever find out; except for PokerGuy, who cracked the case.

PokerGuy cannot share his evidence, nor present any facts whatsoever in this case.

Therefore, based on PokerGuy's post, we should just "trust" him.

Sure, why not?

It would be nice imo. Recounts only end up in court and most of the time recount ballots that arent even part of the official count. In other words it is a perfect storm for playing loose with the rules and contest your way into a seat via the court system. If we had a similar system like Georgia it would already be decided and not looking at a long drawn out court battle.

Uhhhh.... McFly, wake up. Nobody said anything about "massive". When the race is this close, all of a sudden even the most minor issues can impact the outcome. That's when it's easy for shenanigans to take place, as they always do. Normally when a box of ballots is "forgotten" in someone's car trunk, it doesn't really matter, but now it does. Every ballot is scrutinized, challenged, counted etc etc.

The results will speak for themselves.

Screw that. How about an old fashion duel at high noon on the Tuesday of the first full week of January?

All kidding aside, I do think that holding another election may be the best way to settle this.

Based on my understanding, the Coleman lead significantly dropped because they went through Coleman's challenges first, meaning many Franken votes that were set aside have been readded to the vote totals. I'm assuming they will be going through Franken's challenges next, and thus Coleman's lead will go back up.

Yes, because obviously if a Democrat wins, he cheated, if the Republican wins, it's the will of the people.

God damn it people, recounts such as this under the national microscope take place with far more scrutiny than any normal election. While there is more motivation to cheat now then there was before, it's also way harder to do. So seriously, cut all the conspiracy crap and complaining. The system is supposed to work this way, and in relatively short order we'll find out if the unfunny comedian or the (allegedly) corrupt jackass won.

The intense scrutiny of "voter intent" resumed this morning by the five-member board charged with directing Minnesota's recount in the U.S. Senate race between incumbent Republican Norm Coleman and Democratic rival Al Franken, and the first 90 minutes of ballot rulings turned the challenger's slight deficit into a growing triple-digit lead.

From the article -

Once in the lead, Franken was certain to expand it because almost all of the remaining challenges before the board were from Coleman ? and the board was rejecting most challenges. By late morning, he led by 66 votes.
