DDR400 working@266-plz explain...

Why is it that my Kingston DDR400 module is running@266 (PC2100) mode?
It's working together with a northwood P4@2,2 on a Chaintech mobo with Intel 865PE chipset on it-and I am pretty sure that the 400FSB cpu is the reason for that, but can anyone explain this to me from an FSB/bandwidth/DRAM point of view??

Thanx in advance for any lessons

No jumpers, the FSB can be overclocked through the bios and is at default, 100Mhz
Yes, I have left the setting to SPD

Yep, lots of googling has drawn me to this conclusion-it's a matter of cpu/memory divider running. Problem is that this mobo allows only DDR266 setting for my 400FSB northwood (4:3 divider) with no other option for me to choose in the "memory frequency" tab in the bios...(auto setting makes no diff as you can understand)
Apparently if I use a 800FSB cpu (4x200 bus) I will get the rest of the supported memory options (DDR333, DDR400) and work the DIMM in DDR400, or am I going to be in front of other surprises as well?

P.S.: What to expect from a cheap replacement solution that lacks any kind of hardware monitoring (fans, temps, voltages) :Q Really, have you ever seen anything like that?
PS2: Fixed my sig-thanx for the notice, waiting for your hints again!
