DDR400 vs 500 vs ??? memory question

If I have little intention of overclocking (much. there will be some) is there any reason to buy memory rated faster than DDR400 for, initially, my P4 and, later, my to be purchased athlon 64 3700+? I think the Nforce 4 boards (and my current p4 board) are all rated at DDR400.

I'm looking at the cas 2 corsair xms 2G (2x1G) bundle from newegg for about $232. (Twinx2048-3200c2pt)

dosnt matter a whole lot...u can just run a divider to keep the ram within specs....if u want more ram bandwith..then get higher rated RAM...you could then run at a 1:1 ratio...pc4000 is usually a pretty good sweet spot for RAM...your choice

low latency is more important for athlon 64 than ddr speed

I went with the slightly better Corsair than what I mentioned above. I was going to go with the good OCZ DDR400 but between the time I shopping carted it and the time I found my credit card it was sold out.
