DDR400 reading as DDR333 on IC7-G MaxII

I'm setting up a system for someone with the following specs:

IC7-G MaxII
P4 3.0C
2x Corsair 512Mb DDR400
ATi All-in-Wonder 9800 Pro
SB Audigy 2

Those are the main specs... everytime I boot the system it reads the memory as DDR333, and does the same when I put in a different brand. I could manually change it in the BIOS (which is revision 16), but I would rather know why it's not detecting it on it's own.

Any ideas?

are you sure that that p4 is the 800fsb version & not the 533fsb one?

I think you problem is the same as what bacillus said. Looks like your cpu is a 533fsb. OR your motherboard is an IT7 max.

I was thinking that you might have the "wrong" CPU as well.

Have you tried clearing the CMOS then setting the memory timings manually?

I have 2x512mb sticks of Corsair XMS and it doesn't get recognized as PC3200 (400MHz) my 8RDA+ sees it as PC2700.

IIRC, JDEC just officially approved a PC3200 specification. All the older memory rated at PC3200 shows up as PC2700.
