ddr400 memory double side Vs single side

my dell 4600 is currently running 2X128mb ram=256 total
I am trying to upgrade to 2X256mb or 2X512mb. I read the article that says double side memory is faster than single side... problem is how do i tell, from spec that which memory is double sided.
i've seen sth like 32X64... and what does that mean?
anyone care to teach this n00b here?
