Soon as customer stop using dd3.the price will drop.just like the ddr2.right now the ddr2 is more expensive.

Not until either Broadwell or Skylake C160 with DDR4 mainstream chipsets from Intel in 1H 2015 will you see any price reduction in DDR4. These Intel X99 early adopters are being gouged and I can't even get the memory I like (Crucial Ballistix Elite DDR4).

Gouged ? How so ?
It takes time to ramp up production, and thus lowering prices.
Early buyers always pay more, since they want it first.

some people forget that x58 was NOT cheap by any stretch. the first set of triple channel ddr3 was 1400 dollars.

When skylake comes out mid-late 2015 is the point where ddr4 price will probably spike back up due to increased demand
