Are some of the newer X99 boards and/or revisions of boards allowing for easier overclocking of DDR4? Specifically, are there now more memory dividers to allow for speeds greater than 2666 without needing to go to 125 strap?

My ASUS X99-PRO used to allow me to do 2800 with a 100MHz strap. My CPU died though and I had to replace with another one. Since then, my board hasn't allowed it. I have to use 125MHz strap now for some reason. Can't figure it out.

Doesn't really matter though, performance wise.

Thanks for the reply.

With X99, the memory timings are more important than the RAM clock speed, right (to a certain point)?
