Why wouldn't they be?

I am finding product photos of the KVR24E17D8/16 with either micron or skhynix chips, so it looks like Kingston doesn't guarantee/spec one or the other.

As long as you don't OC them, I'd expect either one to run to spec no problem.

It's possible you know something we don't about particular batches of skhynix DDR4 chips...?
 
I guess i'm just kinda afraid of issues after reading all the bios/mem problems people claim to be having with ryzen.

I do like to oc a little and stability test, so 2666 mem speed instead of 2400 might be a goal of mine

But I guess nobody would know that, so i'm just going to have to try them out.
Or maybe i'm just too excited about my first new build in 6yrs and want to make sure everything is perfect.
 
Since the product is by Kingston, I would assume they apply the same standards to any chip provider they use. The chip maker is a sub-contractor in this case.
 
It is my understanding that if you wanted guaranteed Micron chips you should have gotten KVR24E17D8/16MA that say Micron A in the description. I have no idea whether the micron or skhynix chips are better though.

PS I wouldn't overclock these. They may overclock, but if you're buying ECC ram presumably you care more about stability and data integrity. If you want to overclock, just buy regular non-ECC ram.

PPS if you have ebay bucks coupon these are cheaper to buy through newegg ebay store.
