I want to ask about this ram: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B006YG8X9Y/
( Crucial 8GB Single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1.35V/1.5V Notebook Memory CT102464BF160B )

Which say that it support both 1.35v/1.5v ..

If I put this ram in a mix with other ram from different manufacturer that only support one of both those voltages, (the other ram may support only 1.35 or only 1.5v) will they work out of the box ?

Since laptop motherboards do not offer any customization to ram voltage, they need to run out of the box.

I am asking because I am considering getting this to pair with a 1.5v ram, and want to be able to use if i upgrade to another laptop with 1.35v ram.

Mixing ram is not the best way.maybe it will work or not that is the question.

I have always mixed ram, ddr2 and ddr3, on laptops and desktops, with different timing and 'CL' , and they always worked,

I am afraid that having different voltage specs like this ram does might be an issue, and I will buy from a place with no option for returning, so kinda important to know if it will work or not.

I have not heard of memory that works only at 1.35V.
The 1.35V and 1.50V will work together, right out of the box, without requiring any changes in BIOS settings.

I bought 1.35v DDR3 for my wife's computer, and it has XMP profiles for both 1.35v and 1.5v, with different latencies.

Thanks for the replies :)

I found this link:
http://forum.crucial.com/t5/Crucial...-35v-1-5v-Dual-Voltage-DDR3-memory/ta-p/71731
from here:
http://www.tomshardware.com/answers...ory-sticks-operating-voltages-35v-laptop.html

which says:

Will the dual voltage 1.35V/1.5V parts work with my original memory?

If your original installed memory is 1.5V and you are adding a dual-voltage 1.35V/1.5V module to an open DIMM slot, the dual-voltage module will operate at 1.5V, not 1.35V. In order to run at 1.35V, all installed memory modules must be dual-voltage 1.35V/1.5V and the system must support DDR3L (1.35V low voltage) to enable the module to run at 1.35V.
