When is the expected price drop of DDR3 going to happen?
a year from now to reach DDR2 prices?


Any Idea ?
 
Probably late 2008 to see DDR3 in mainstream PC and another two years for price to hit the saturation level. Not sure if DDR3 will ever hit $9/GB.
 
What about in laptops, DDR2's adoption was faster there because of its lower voltage (well, that and the fact that Intel was and still is a lot more popular in the mobile front...)

It looks like the wiki thinks we'll have DDR3 around Q2 of this year, but I've noticed wikipedia can be very out of date on this kind of thing.
