I recently purchased a netbook -- Asus eee pc 1015pw which sports an Atom N570 dual core proc @ 1.66 ghz and is using an intel NM10 express chipset. I am running W7 starter SP1 32bit and have all the patches/hotfixes and have also been extensively updating the drivers for integrated components (ethernet, wireless, sound, etc) save for the intel GMA 3150 driver which are nearly the newest and the NM10 drivers which I cannot find anywhere. Intel reports I have the newest NM10 but DriverAgent notes it is out of date.
ANYWAYs, as the system came with a paltry 1GB RAM I quickly upgraded this to 2GB w/Crucial's CT25664BC1339 module --
What the heck is going on here? I would have thought that if the computer could not truly support DDR3 it would not work with a DDR3 module. The system runs fine and has not had any issues -- is it possible that all the programs are misreporting the RAM or is it somehow running at only DDR2? The BIOS has NO options for adjusting RAM speed/timings and also does not report the speed, it is only on post (if I have messages set to display) that I do see the DDR III -- 667 MHz.
