DDR3 Memory - Is it still too early to adopt DDR3?

I'm building a new system. I wonder if I should jump DDR3 memory. The prices are still high, about 50% higher than comparable DDR2. Is it still too early to get DDR3?

IMO, yes. There is no real world difference in speed between DDR2 and DDR3. Since DDR3 is more expensive, I see no reason to buy it now.

That about sums it up - you pay twice as much for practically the same speed. You could suppose that buying DDR3 sticks now ensures that you could reuse them in the future.... but in the future they should cost half as much, so it evens out.

So really, only if you have money to burn on having "the best you can buy."

You'll have to get a new board for Nehalem anyways and by that time DDR3 should be cheaper.
