DDR3 1600mhz 1:1 ratior for 1600FSB?

If I want to run 1:1 FSB:RAM ratio for 1600FSb, which DDR3 speed I should get? DDR3 1600mhz?

What is your desired "basic" FSB speed...? 400MHz...?

Do you mean "quad pumped" 1600MHz FSB frequency...?

I'm assuming you're taking about Intel's quad-pumped FSB number, since that's the only way one could reasonably hit 1600. In that case the matching RAM speed is DDR2-800.

or DDR3-1600, since DDR3 speeds are quad-pumped (whereas DDR2 is doubled).

No.

It it still the DDR - Double Data Rate memory, 3-rd generation, hence DDR3.

Okay... just read that thread. I stand corrected. And throughly confused, too. Why don't they just use FSB for everything - mb, ram, CPU. It is really confusing for a newcomer like me, though, with half the people spreading misinformation (myself included just now).
