I'm not "AMD-savvy." However, I'm wondering if you've already installed ASUS "tweaking" software [The "Suite"] which allows over-clock settings under Windows.

I ask this -- not because I'm thoroughly knowledgeable about the Suite (which I only use myself for monitoring), but because I had an LGA-775 mobo with nVidia chipset, and I installed the nVidia software that allows tuning or over-clocking within Windows. If I saved the settings, rebooted to enter BIOS, changed the BIOS settings, and then booted to Windows, the software would override the changes I made directly to BIOS. I had to disable the file saved by the software which imposed the overclock settings I wanted to change.

Sorry I can't be of further assistance with this, but with an ASUS board, you should be able to change the RAM speed from 1333 to 1600, change the timings and voltage etc. -- save the BIOS changes and get what you intended. I can't imagine otherwise why you would have that problem, except with the example I gave.

Thanks BonzaiDuck. finally fund the culprit.it is cpuz and aida.they only register from ddr3 1333 since the default on the mobo is 1333. if i look on cpuz under memory its 803.6 mhz /fsb 1:4 (cl)9.0 (trcd)9 (trp)9 (tras)24 (trc)40 (cr) 1t

Are cpuz and aida reading from the jedec spec in the SPD? Most manufacturers will release ram that runs higher than it was rated for. For instance mine says it was rated at 609MHz 8-8-8 @1.5v when it was sold to me as 1600 (800) 7-7-7 (I actually had to send it back a year later to get it to run at this spec) Like you say the Memory tab shows the values it's actually running at.
