If you are asking what to run your RAM at between those two settings, the answer is it doesn't matter. You won't be able to tell a difference in 99% of all apps.

I'd go with whatever setting gives you the lowest voltage setting.

I'm asking about timings in general. Would there be more than a 1 or 2% difference between those two? I can run my RAM at either, but it takes more voltage to run it stably at 1600 CAS 9 compared to 1333 CAS 8

Well considering that the second RAM has a higher bandwidth and tighter timings it's quite obvious which one will be better. But will you notice the difference? Surely not, except if you're running super PI or memory benchmarks..

Erm no...notice I said 1600 @ 9-9-9-24 vs 1333 @ 8-8-8-24. The 1333 is slower clocked, but the timings are tighter.

Only if you don't understand what those ominous numbers mean. Those are clock cycles and 9 clock cycles at a frequency (well not exactly but since its only different by a constant who cares) of 1600 is faster than 8 at 1333..

The CAS9 DDR3-1600 is faster and has the lower latency, but unless you love doing benchmarks, you'd never be able to tell the difference anyways.

Another link. Same as the x-bit article, makes very little difference. Though looks to me like 1600 is optimal.
