DDR2100 vs DDR2700

Is there much difference in performance between the two? I was able to buy a 256 stick of Crucial DDR2100 for like $38.00. DDR2700 obviously costs more. I am planning on buying a kt333 motherboard which can handle the pc2700, but the 2100 was such a good price, I couldn't resist. What if anything would I be giving up if I used 2100 instead of 2700? Right now in my ECS k7s5a system, the old bios insists on setting the cpu/memory clock setting to 100/100. 100/133 is unstable, so in order to get stability, I hate having to hard reboot all the time, I have to accept the 100 memory setting which I assume runs the 2100 ddr like 1600. Any thoughts? thanks....

well you shouldn't be missing out too much
if you get a kt333 board and choose to run the memory at 166mhz there is a chance that yur pc2100 can handle it
if it doesn't then you can just run it at it's stock speed and lose maybe 5 or 10% performance
the only time pc2700 comes in handy is when you are running both the memory and the fsb at 166 (333ddr) speeds
the kt333 doesn't officially support a 166fsb but if you choose to overclock and want to play around it's all good
i don't see why yur mem wouldn't be able to oc to pc2700 speeds
the worst you would hafta do is lower the timings
welp have fun
