I am comparing a cards
Both are Radeons 128 bit memory interface X550
Difference between 256 MB DDR2 AND 256 MB GDDR2, any speed difference?
Now to my next question, I am fairly new to this stuff.
I goto the ATI website, and see this for the X550
64-bit and 128-bit memory interface supporting 64MB or 128MB DDR1 memory configurations
Then on newegg, I see the same X550 from Sapphire , Powercolor, Connect3d, and the card has 256MB of either DDR or the Connect3D has GDDR2 ram? NOT 128 but 256

My question is, does ATI sell the chip to them, can they put however much amount of ram on there they want, do they have to ask ATI?
Another question this card
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814103171 this card says GDDR2 , then on the box it says DDR2 what the hell?
