DDR2 RAM prices seem to be a lot higher now

What's the deal with DDR2 prices anyways, are they trending upward for good (manufacturers cutting DDR2 production in favor of DDR3, perhaps)? I thought 4GB would be a cheap upgrade, but prices have gone up a lot since I had last checked a few months ago.

This year, there've been two threads in this Forum about RAM price trends. I, too, was looking at memory prices yesterday and, indeed, DDR2 has doubled or tripled this year.

On the other hand, used DDR1 appears to have peaked. It's time to get rid of any leftover DDR1 before the prices decline.
