DDR2 Question

I should have made both questions one thread but I forgot this one. I just bought Corsair DDR2 PC6400C4 CL4-4-4-12 800Mhz. My question involves Dual Channel DDR2. Im mostly not sure what it is 🙂 I have 2 sticks (1 gig each), and the manual says something about making sure both sticks are in the same color slot for dual channel...do I need that? Im not sure what it is :/ Technology has changed too much since my last build 🙂
 
Dual channel offers a small memory performance increase.

Install the sticks in the slots on your motherboard that match colors. For example if you have 2 green slots and 2 orange slots, put both sticks in the green slots or the orange slots. Don't put one stick in a green slot and one in an orange slot.
