ddr2 memory synchronous vs. asynch.

Hi.

I have a c2d system with an e6400 and I'm wondering of the performance advantages (if any) of running the memory asynchronously (faster than the FSB)

Would there be gain in running the memory at say 800mhz or 1066mhz instead of 533mhz while the cpu remains at 1066mhz FSB?

Are there any benchmarks available?

Looks like i should have researched a bit more. It seems like there is a very nice gain between 533mhz memory and 1066 mhz.
