DDR2 Memory Problem SOS

Hi,

This is my first post to this forum.
My problem is that although I have installed 4x1GB Memory sticks in my MSI P6N SLI Platinum Mobo, in the Vista 32Bit System Properties it is being displayed as 2GB.
The BIOS however recognises the whole 4096MB of RAM. I understand that Vista 32 Bit won't recognise more than 3GB of RAM but it is inexplicable why only 2GB is being displayed.

My configuration is as under:
P6N SLI Platinum Motherboard
4 x 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 Memory Sticks - Kingston KVR667D2N5/1G - tested and supported by MSI with this Mobo
Intel Quad Core CPU - Q6600
160GB WD Hard Disk
2 x 8600GT Graphics Cards in SLI Configuration
Corsair HX620W PSU

Can anybody help?

You understand incorrectly, 32-bit Vista won't show anymore than 4G minus however much address space is stolen by your hardware for MMIO. Since you've got 2 PCIe cards that loses you either 512M or 1G of memory right off the bat since I'm guessing they either have 256M or 512M each then on top of that you lose addresses for all of the other functions of your motherboard and any add-on cards.

Yeah, I only see 3GB but thats cos I have a GTS 640 which takes up 640 MB, although I do not know where the 360MB has gone to.
