My question: Is the DDR2 800 memory compatible with the motherboard's "memory standard" of DDR2 1066?

yes, no problem..667, 800..it'll all work if the memory stick brand itself is compatible with the board. if remember, 1066 is actually 4 x ~266fsb....a stick of ddr2 memory that is 800 is 2 x 400 speed.
