DDR2 400 vs DDR 400 memory

I was wondering if i it matters what type of memory my motherboard uses.

I noticed on zipzoomfly there are two versions of pc3200.

There is a DDR2 400 and a DDR400.

I'm assuming DDR2 400 is better, so does my motherboard support it?

I have a chaintech vnf4 ultra. Thanks a bunch.

DDR2 is a different technology. DDR400 will be faster due to lower latencies.
You cannot use DDR2 with any known A64 CPU since the integrated memory controller does not support it.

as kensai said, you need DDR, NOT DDR2.

DDR2 is only used in intel boards thus far. in the future, it may be faster, but currently, because of higher latencies, it ends up slower.
