I am going to install 2 RAM kits together, for a total of 8GB, on a P45 motherboard [Asus/DFI/Gigabyte/MSI] with a Q9450. Will run all 8GB [4 modules] @ 1066; hopefully I can do 5-5-5-15 at that speed.

What would be the difference between the Patriot & G.Skill model's, other than price; how is G.Skill to Patriot?

Are you overclocking? Unless your applications are extremely bandwidth-intensive the extra speed may not matter very much if at all. Getting 4x2GB running stably at DDR2-1066 could require some TLC.
