Just wondering if its possible to put 2 sticks of DDR2 1066 memory into a motherboard that says the 'memory standard' is DDR2 800.

Im a total noob and help would be appreciated. Searched google prior to posting but couldn't find what I was looking for.

Yes it's definitely possible. Most likely than not the memory will automatically downclock to match the FSB of your CPU. Alternatively, you can manually force the RAM:CPU ratio.

The only thing that you have to watch out for sometimes is certain DDR2 kits are rated at 2.0V+, while your mobo may come stock with 1.8V in the BIOS.
