I am going to be purchasing a Socket A DDR motherboard within the next coming weeks, which does everyone think I should get? I am leaning towards getting an ASUS A7M266. I would prefer to stay away from the ALiMagic chipset, just because of bad experiences in the past with ALi. Any personal experiences/advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Daas

THe epox 8k7a is almost $50 cheaper and is just as good, if not better because of the multiplier adjustments. Check other posts just like this on the first and second page......

i like the a7m266

but it is getting harder to find, and costs alot
like cky said the epox board uses the same chipset as the asus board (amd chipset)
costs less and is still a very good board

All of the AMD761 boards are good. Depends on what you are looking for the board to do and how much you are willing to pay for it. I would go with the Asus A7M266 if you will only overclock using the FSB settings. Otherwise depending upon your financial situation the FIC AD11, MSI K7 Master, and Epox 8K7A(+) are great boards for overclocking via the multiplier settings. The Gigabyte 7DXR board looks to be all things to all people though. The ALI chipset is actually a very good performer and offers excellent stability at this point.
