Hei guyz...i see tat Dell has released a new model in USA : Dell Dimension 4400. The Dimension 8200 is equiped wit RDRAM Memory. The Dimension 4300 is equiped wit SDRAM memory. And the New Dimension 4400 is equiped wit DDR SDRAM . So guyz...which is bettter ?? In terms of performance and price ?? And tell me more about DDR SDRAM ! I am really confused

Here is the information about the new Dimension 4400 : http://www.dell.com/us/en/dhs/produ..._dimen_4400.htm

The price per performance winner is definetly the DDR Ram. Since you're looking into a P4 I wouldn't recommend the SDRAM.

ddr sdram is double density ram. it operates at a frequency of 266 mhz (for pc2100), regular sdram, the operating frequency is 133 mhz.

Check Anand's new article of the i845D roundup...Tom has one out as well.

Yes, DDR P4 system will yield the best "bang for the buck."

Just a small correction, it's Double Data Rate, not Double Density.

As to whether the DDR system will perform better then the RDRAM based system depends much upon what chipset is utilized in the DDR system. Knowing Dell, it's likely to be the Intel I845D chipset which will offer slightly lower performance then Dell's RDRAM based system.

That said, as others have mentioned, the DDR system definitely offers the best price/performance ratio.
